ABOUT LYNDA PETTERWOOD

about

My first thought every morning when I wake up is “thank you for another day on this beautiful planet” and “thank you for the abundance in my life”.  Then I fill my day doing things that I love – spending time with family and friends, working with clients in my practice (it does not feel like work), giving presentations or trainings, wave skiing, bike riding, yoga or tai chi, reading, writing or learning (via books, dvd’s and cd’s) or perhaps enjoying a beautiful sunset and of course meditation.

I am Director of a very successful company with over seventy employees and have worked extensively with clients with a varied range of problems and challenges in their life and  am blessed to have been able to be part of their transformational journey, boosting their happiness, health and wealth and help realizing their full potential in life.

However, it wasn’t always this way …

I am one of 10 children and due to my mother’s alcoholism and other problems I was taken away from her at a very early age and grew up with my father and step mother.  My father was also an alcoholic – a very angry and bitter one.

There was never much money and clothes with holes in them were normal.  I don’t remember any celebrations for any of my birthdays.

As a child my first huge dream was to be old enough to leave home and so when I was 16, which was the legal age to do so, I did just that.  I valued education and so I worked twenty hours a week to put myself through my final year of high school while living alone in a little granny flat with no financial support from anybody.

I was craving love so much that I got married at 20 years of age.  When the marriage ended three years later I felt like such a failure.  I never wanted to be another divorce statistic like my parents.  I left that marriage not knowing what I wanted and spent the next five years discovering myself.

I know that due to my childhood and my first marriage, I am truly blessed to have a perspective about life of never being a victim and getting stuck in the story of my past.  The past is to be used to propel you to what you DO want in your life and I have discovered the tools and techniques to do just that, for myself and for you, if that is what you would like.

I’ve spent years and thousands & thousands of dollars studying the fields of self-awareness and human potential with some of the greatest teachers of our time, obtaining my qualifications as an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner and Trainer, Hypnotherapist, Empowerment Coach, Psych K Facilitator and DeMartini graduate.

As an author, I have contributed a chapter to The Book of Success, a power-packed book for anyone wanting to improve their life – my chapter is entitled  “How to Discover Your Purpose and Passion”.  I am also a regular contributor to My Entrepreneur Magazine.

Today my mission, inspiration and passion is to help empower people to live the fulfilled lives they desire and deserve.

What I have learned is you can take the slow road and try to do it all alone, or seek guidance and support and achieve your goals and dreams faster.

If you are curious to see whether we could work together, contact me to have a real conversation about what you want … and I’d be happy to help you achieve it.

Smile often, laugh out loud and, most importantly be your own best friend.

P.S. Life will get in the way and months or years later you will still be in the same spot you are right now. Or you can take action now. It is now your turn to make the decision to take that step.

P.P.S – Because of my commitment to each person I work closely with, sometimes demand exceeds my ability to take on new clients. So, if you are ready to do something different and move forward in your life, invest in yourself, get in touch and get your questions answered – now!

My Mission

My Mission is to help EMPOWER as many people as possible to live the fulfilled lives they desire and deserve. I achieve this by my 1 on 1 coaching sessions, workshops, presentations and retreats.

Also, by my writing blogs, articles and books, and creating videos etc and by being a high frequency light worker.

Lotus Empowerment

You may wonder why I chose the name Lotus Empowerment for my business.  The Lotus Flower is a metaphor for my life – in Buddhism it represents one symbol of fortune. It grows in muddy water, and it is this environment that gives forth the flower’s most literal meaning: rising and blooming above the murk to achieve enlightenment.

I have included my poem “If I Were a Lotus

If I Were a Lotus

If I were a lotus I would do exactly what I have done.

Despite being born into the mud and having so much murky water between the light and me.

I would strive and push and persevere.

Knowing that there had to be something better than this.

Knowing that there was a light above that would have the answers.

A light that would give me a new life.

A light that would make the whole struggle worthwhile.

A light that would nourish and sustain me.

If I were a lotus I would be able to use the murky waters behind me as a point of reference to what I did not want.

A way of getting clarity on what I did want.

Peace, love, happiness and truth.

The truth to let myself blossom in the perfection of me.

The perfection of me with all my imperfections.

Knowing that I have always done my best to get to the light.

Knowing that everything has its season, and that change is a part of life.

I would embrace every sun filled day and every star filled night.

I would embrace the morning frost and the cloudy nights.

They are all part of the journey, all to be embraced.

If I were a lotus I would feel peace, love and happiness knowing I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

Even though I came through those muddy, murky waters below.

Maybe that is why I can see the light so clearly now.

If I were a lotus …… but wait .….. I am!

Lotus Flower
